Finnish Lapphund Versatility Awards

FLCA Versatility Awards may be earned by AKC registered Finnish Lapphunds who have received recognition across the AKC programs as listed in the FLCA Points Schedule. These awards shall be retroactive back to January 2004, the date the breed was first allowed to earn AKC titles.

FLCA Members in good standing with the AKC and the FLCA, who are currently registered owners of the dog or the last recorded owners for posthumously awarded dogs, may apply for these awards.

The AKC Points / Summary of Title Progression Report must be submitted with the Application. Only AKC titles and herding instinct tests should be included on the application and must be reflected in the progression report.

Application, progression report, and a photo of the dog shall be submitted to the FLCA Awards and Title Committee via email. It is the responsibility of the Applicant to ensure the accuracy of the information submitted on the application. The committee may return applications for corrections via email.

After committee review, a certificate of award will be mailed to the Applicant, the dog will be added to the FLCA Versatility website page, an announcement will be sent to the membership, and the Show Chair will be notified for mention at the next national specialty.

Applications may be submitted as each level is achieved or can be submitted for the highest level of achievement for the dog. A certificate will be sent for only the level applied for. If the Applicant wishes to update titles earned after the award has been made, a new application can be submitted with a $10 fee and the website details will be edited. This fee does not apply to dogs applying for a higher level.
